SISO in Złocieniec Municipality – First Waste Sorting Inspections Show Promising Results

More than 65% of inspected waste bags were sorted correctly – this is the result of the first inspections carried out in Złocieniec Municipality, which uses the Individual Waste Segregation System (SISO) developed by T-Master SA.

The results demonstrate how modern technologies can help local governments monitor waste sorting quality, identify irregularities and implement effective educational initiatives.

First Waste Sorting Inspections in Złocieniec

The first inspections of municipal waste sorting practices have been carried out in Złocieniec Municipality, where the Individual Waste Segregation System (SISO) has been operating for approximately one year.

Of the 26 waste bags inspected, 17 were sorted correctly, representing 65.4% of all bags checked.

This is a promising result for the initial inspections and, at the same time, provides valuable information to the local authorities about areas where further resident education is needed. The findings serve as a starting point for further analysis and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of separate waste collection.

Residents whose waste was found to be incorrectly sorted will receive information and guidance on how to properly separate individual waste fractions.

Technology That Supports Education and Individual Responsibility

The SISO system uses individual QR codes assigned to households. This makes it possible to identify the source of waste and verify whether it has been sorted correctly.

This solution enables local governments to move from an anonymous waste collection system to a model based on individual responsibility among residents.

In practice, SISO enables:

  • Identification of irregularities – determining which household generated waste that was incorrectly sorted.
  • Targeted educational initiatives – providing specific information and guidance to residents whose waste sorting errors have been identified.
  • Monitoring waste sorting quality – analysing inspection results and tracking changes over time.
  • Supporting local governments in achieving environmental objectives – improving the quality of separate waste collection, which is essential for meeting required recycling targets.

Digitalising Waste Management Also Means Changing Habits

Implementing a modern system does not automatically improve waste sorting quality. Resident awareness, appropriate education and consistent monitoring of results are equally important.

The first inspection results in Złocieniec demonstrate that SISO can be an effective tool in supporting this process. By enabling individual waste identification, the municipality can respond to specific irregularities rather than issuing general messages to all residents.

This approach helps gradually build a sense of responsibility for waste sorting quality and allows educational initiatives to be better tailored to actual needs.

SISO Supports Modern Waste Management

The first inspections in Złocieniec Municipality mark an important stage in the implementation of SISO and provide a practical example of how data can be used in the day-to-day management of municipal waste.

Further inspections will make it possible to assess how waste sorting quality changes over time and whether the educational initiatives undertaken are delivering the expected results.

Technology provides tools for monitoring and analysis, but it is the informed engagement of residents that drives meaningful change.

By continuously developing its proprietary Individual Waste Segregation System, T-Master SA supports local governments in building modern, data-driven waste management systems based on education and individual responsibility.
