A revolution in waste segregation: the T-Master System that charges only for what you actually throw away! (video)

Why do we need individual waste segregation?

In Poland, over 20 million people live in multi-family housing, generating an average of 360 kg of waste per person per year. Despite the obligation to segregate waste, most of it still ends up in one container, resulting in low recovery rates and a real risk of severe penalties for municipalities—and therefore for residents. The European Union requires a recycling rate of 55% by 2025 and 60% by 2030. Without effective “at-source” segregation—meaning in every apartment—there is no chance of reaching these levels.

The problem of collective responsibility

In the traditional system, even if most residents in a building segregate their waste, one or a few people who do not can expose the entire building to higher fees. During inspections, it is impossible to determine who is at fault—so everyone pays the penalty. This is not fair. And—as the video shows—it doesn’t have to be this way!

The solution: the Individual Waste Segregation System delivered by T-Master SA

The law allows a departure from collective responsibility under one condition: there must be a technical possibility to link waste to a specific resident. T-Master achieves this through its Drop&Go, Drop&Go Waste House, and other products!

How does it work?

  • Each resident receives a set of stickers with unique QR codes.
  • When segregating waste, the resident sticks a code on the bag—like a luggage tag at an airport.
  • The code assigns the bag to a specific resident.
  • At the container, simply scan the QR code—the flap opens automatically.
  • The system weighs the waste, and its weight and fraction are sent to the user’s individual account in the app.
  • The data enables settlements in the PAYT model – Pay As You Throw, meaning “pay only for what you throw away.”

Benefits for residents, municipalities, and the environment

The SISO system:

  • eliminates illegal dumping and contamination of waste areas,
  • increases the level of proper segregation,
  • allows lower fees for those who segregate correctly,
  • protects against penalties for insufficient recycling,
  • organizes and improves the space around containers.

As many as 95% of users declare satisfaction with the implementation and do not want to return to traditional, dirty containers.

Why is this the future of waste management?

Digitization of waste systems is the only way to achieve the required EU recovery levels and to genuinely reduce costs for municipalities. The T-Master System is fully ready to implement the PAYT model—the only fair method of waste billing in multi-family buildings. A solution that benefits residents, local governments, and the environment.
